Ok, so I got this recipe for chicken curry, but here’s the thing: Not once did this person state a quantity of any sort. We will have to approach this one from the “Wing It” angle. WARNING: The conversation itself is boring. Seriously, terribly dull.
You: hey
Stranger: hi
You: how are you?
Stranger: 16
You: not how old
You: but anyway, 16 is cool.
Stranger: sorry i misread. and i’m good thanks, you?
You: i’m good. hey, i have a question for you
You: i’m learning how to cook. do you have a favorite recipe?
Stranger: Oooo probably meatballs or thai green curry
You: i’ve never heard of green curry before, just red and yellow
Stranger: Oh well then, just curry then
You: do you know how to make it?
Stranger: one second, i’ll double check
You: haha, ok
Stranger: right. fry some onions
Stranger: then add some chille and garlic and ginger and fry for five more minutes
You: sounds good so far
Stranger: add spices, cumin, tumeric, curry powder, garam massalla, coriander and salt
Stranger: cook on low for five more mins
Stranger: Add the tomato puree and tomatoes and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and let it all bubble away for 10 minutes.
You: ok, so it should simmer for a while
Stranger: Add the chicken and continue to cook for half and hour
Stranger: basically yeah
You: does the chicken go in raw, or do you have to cook it first?
Stranger: raw
You: ok, cool
Stranger: then you cook it with the sauce for a half an hour then check to make sure it cooked
Stranger: although if your just starting to cook it could be better to start of a bit simpler like spaggetti bolgnese
You: i can cook a little bit, but just simple stuff
You: i’ve pretty much got spaghetti down
You: where are you from?
Stranger: uk
You: i hear you guys have a lot of good indian and pakistani food there
You: there are a few good places on my street but it’s too expensive to eat out
Stranger: i don’t really eat to much indian food, prefer chinese
You: how about british food? fish and chips, bangers and mash, all that stuff
Stranger: yeah thats nice
